You can easily find ones that make four cups of coffee at a time, as well as ones that only make a single cup.  Regardless of whether or not you use a coffee grinder to prepare the coffee, these units will still provide you with good tasting coffee. In addition, you are sure to enjoy having a coffee maker that uses far less electricity than the one you are using now.

Solar Powered Personal Sized Coffee Makers

For the most part, you will find that it is difficult to get ahold of a full sized solar powered coffee maker.  Even if you do manage to find one, you may feel the cost is prohibitive.

That said, if you want at cup of hot coffee whenever you please, a cup that runs on solar power will work just as well.

As you may be aware, solar powered coffee cups run on a small power pack that is no larger than the cup itself. Typically, you can simply place the cup on a windowsill, or some other location to charge up the internal battery.  From there, brewing your coffee is as simple as adding water. If you love hot coffee while you are driving, or tend to drink several cups during work hours, a solar powered cup will suit your needs perfectly.

Once you figure out how many watts of electricity your coffee maker uses, you may get an unpleasant surprise. Chances are, you may not even realize that you are spending several hundred dollars each year just to brew coffee.  While you may feel that coffee is a necessity, there are a number of cheaper and easier ways to brew it. At the very least, you can try battery and solar powered coffee makers to see if you like them.
